170 Edgewood Drive and Fort Meigs and Cemetery:

The residence is 1.95 miles from Fort Meigs.

Fort Meigs, built during the War of 1812, located along the banks of the Maumee River in what is known today as Perrysburg, Ohio. The fort withstood two British sieges in 1813 with the British objective to capture the fort or wipe it off the map, this became a turning point in the war for the American forces.

Fort Meigs Cemetery is located 1.57 miles from the residence. There are at least three unmarked cemeteries at Fort Meigs. Many soldiers died at Fort Meigs during the War of 1812.

Unfortunately, because of time restraints there was not much time to bury the dead, so most of the soldiers were buried in unmarked mass graves. However, there are a few gravestones for officers throughout Fort Meigs park.In 1908, the state erected a large obelisk style monument in honor of the fallen soldiers who fought there.

Some believe Fort Meigs is haunted by the dead soldiers; there have been many ghost sightings.
