Toledo, Ohio

Synopsis of Building Ownership:

The original two outward buildings were built in 1895, unfortunately the original builder and owner is unknown. The Warehouse was added in between the buildings sometime before 1936. Though historical maps show the original buildings were present around 1895, the earliest name associated with the location was a William and Minnie Fulton. Mr. and Mrs. Fulton sold the residential building to a Cora Schupack in 1918, for $1.00 in July of 1918. However, in 1923, deed records show that they sold the same building to a Myrtle May Kelly (also listed as Myrtle Kelly or Myrtle Cory). That same year, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly released their property to George L. Frese. He added the warehouse and additional dwelling area around 1936. Records show that the central building was used in the 30’s as a Beer & Wine Warehouse. In 1962, a Norman and Thelma Bartlett purchase the full lot, and then sold it 4 days later to a Paul R. Sussman of Sussman Asbestos Company. Paul then sold the build and company to a William A. Sussman in 1965. A William and Dorothy Kamke later purchased the company in 1987. Mr. Ralph Behrendt purchased the property in 1999 and later it was passed to Virginia Behrendt in 2016.
